Day 16...Doing Good

Still going strong. In the first two weeks I lost 2.6 pounds. The goal is 10.4 more. I'm on the way!! Still sore after every workout, but that's ok cause it feels good. I wore two pair of pants on Sunday and both of them could be pulled off without unbuttoning. Yay!!

Thanks for reading.

Day 12...Legs, Legs, Legs

Workouts were all great today. I actually felt refreshed by the time I got around to the Legs & Back, so I was able to go all out. Completed all of Ab Ripper, as well...nice. I know I'll be sore tomorrow, but that's ok. It means I worked hard.

Eating was a little tougher today, even though I did great. I have eaten out most Fridays in the recent past, and I had to fix my schedule so that I didn't do that. It worked out, I ate within my range and I'm not hungry.

Here's a little bonus Natalie story for you that her teacher told me yesterday. Mrs. Wilkins takes each child and individually gives them a math "test" to assess where they are. The subject was subtraction. Mrs. Wilkins told Natalie, "Suppose you have 11 Tootsie Rolls and I take one of them. How many would you have left?" Well, Natalie stared at her for a little while and then she said, "You shouldn't take my Tootsie Rolls!" Needless to say, Mrs. Wilkins had to hide her face to keep from showing Natalie that she was laughing. She had to change the question to "Suppose you have 11 Tootsie Rolls and you give me one of them. How many would you have left?" Natalie was able to answer that correctly!!

Day 11...Yoga Yuck

Oh, man, I hate yoga. It seriously kicks my butt. I could do plyometric training and weight training all day long, but when it comes to yoga I am hurting less than an hour later. Ughh! I'm gonna stick with it for at least a few more weeks, though.

Yesterday was good. I did Pump in the morning, Shoulders & Arms in the afternoon and Combat in the evening. I'm going to try not to spread it out like that anymore; I think it hurts more that way. Eating went well, too.

Today was my cheat day. Chuck E. Cheese had us come out and support Natalie's school, so I had some yummy pizza and root beer. Taco Bueno was a good lunch, too. :-) Only negative is that now I have to eat my calories until next weekend when I'll plan another cheat day for either Friday or Saturday. Yikes!

Looking forward to tomorrow. I just said that I didn't want to spread it out anymore, but that's exactly what I'll be doing tomorrow. 8:30 Pump, Noon Pump and then Legs & Back with Chris after we get the kids to bed. Can't wait!!

Day 9...Plyo Night

I love, love, love this workout! What I don't love is spending 25 minutes trying to do the seven minute warm-up while I'm trying to get Austin to go to bed. He decided that bedtime would be the perfect time to start using the potty, every 3 minutes. Arghhh!!! I almost quit the workout, but then luckily Chris got home and took over the potty duties.

So, anyway, I did BodyCombat this morning and then Plyometrics tonight. Still eating well, too. My biggest problem so far is scheduling all of the workouts; especially since I'm also trying to find a time to learn the new Pump and Combat choreography.

Until next time...

Weekend Update & Day 8

...blueberry muffins, Chick-fil-a (with shake), Mr. Chopsticks, Starbucks...enough said!

No really, I survived the weekend without cheating any more than I planned. Wow! That was seriously tough for me. My parents tend to bring out the desire in me to eat horribly. I did eat horribly on Saturday, but that was the plan, so all is good. The Stretch "workout" on Sunday was great; just what was needed.

So Mondays are going to be really tough. I had to make a choice between staying up really late to watch Dancing With The Stars and taking two showers or getting up at the ungodly time of 5:30am. I chose the latter and have been really tired. I'm also already sore, but it wasn't as bad as I expected. I wasn't sure if I would be able to stick to my normal weights in my Pump classes, but I was able to without too much extra effort. So another successful day.

I'm feeling really good about this. I know I'm only one week in, but I think I can do it and I also think I'm going to see the results I want.

Day 8 done, 88 to Disney & 89 to Cinderella's Royal Table! Woohoo!!!

Day 5...I Need Your Ideas

I defeated the Reverse Bicycles! Yay! Next step in Ab Ripper is to complete the bonus round of the Mason Twist. Then I'll work on perfecting each move.

I cannot believe how sore Yoga made me. Usually it takes longer for soreness to set in, but I woke up sore this morning. My hips, shoulders, hamstrings, wow!

I'm gonna be good tonight. My parents will get here around 8, but I will be strong and not get any extra snacks. I can do it! I must do it! I will do it!! Tomorrow will be another story and I am ready to cheat!!

So, now for the reason I need your ideas. Legs & Back was great, but after two Pump classes this morning it kicked my butt. I know I will be SO sore tomorrow. My question is: Do you have any ideas for how I should go about using the restroom tomorrow? Guys have it so easy! I can already imagine the pain I'm going to feel every time. Maybe I just shouldn't drink anything tomorrow. ;) What do you think?? Any ideas?

Day 4...Ughh!!

Can I just say that I absolutely despise Yoga?? It's like running to me; I am miserable through every second of it, but then I actually feel decent after I'm done. Arghh, at least it's done. So, today was BodyCombat this morning and then T-Rex (me) chased Triceratops (Austin) and Brachiosaurus (Natalie), then lots of spring cleaning, and then finally tonight I did yoga. I'm really looking forward to the Legs & Back workout tomorrow. It may be really tough after two Pump classes, but it's my favorite.

Chris went to Sonic tonight and I still had up to 360 calories that I could have eaten. Proud to say, I was strong and decided to stick with my plan instead of eating something from there. That's not normal for me!

Thanks for reading and now it's time for your question: Why are you not answering my questions? ;-)

Day 3...Not Too Bad

Dang those reverse bicycles; they're the only thing I cannot finish on the Ab Ripper X workout. I know, I know, it's only the second day to do it, but still, it annoys me.

The Shoulders and Arms workout was not bad at all. I actually found out that I'm a lot stronger than I was almost two years ago. Last time I attempted this was before I had even heard of BodyPump. Yay BodyPump!! My limitation is that we only have dumbbells in increments of 5s. All but one exercise I used the 10s, but I don't know if there are any that I could finish with 15s.

So today was a pretty "easy" day...just one Pump class and then my P90X workouts. Eating was good, but I think I'm already in a rut. It's just easier that way.

Time for your question: What is your favorite frozen dinner?

Day 2...So Far, So Good!

It's been a very productive day. Taught BodyCombat this morning, got my hair done, did Plyometrics, took a nap, practiced the new BodyCombat and now I'm chilling. I'm definitely feeling yesterday's workouts, but it's not as bad as I expected. The thing that hurt the most was giving dinosaur rides (they're like horse rides, but you have to growl) to the kids tonight. I had to make them climb up since I couldn't raise up and down with them on me. :)

Still eating right and I don't feel like I'm starving, so that's good.

Now, time for your question: What is your goal (doesn't have to be fitness related) for 90 days from now?

Day 1...Done!

YAY!! I did it!! I'm not sore yet, but I can tell it will happen pretty soon. I just feel fatigued right now. I taught my two BodyPump classes this morning and then came home and did Chest & Back and Ab Ripper X. Whew! I feel like I went pretty hard on the push ups. Maybe next week I'll push a little more on the pull ups. I was proud of myself on Ab Ripper X cause I only missed about six reverse bicycles and the bonus round of the Mason Twist. Please do not try to make me laugh for the next three days!!

Eating is going well, too. I think I'll have an Aleve with my hot chocolate in a little bit and get back to watching Dancing with the Stars.

Now, a question for you: What do you do (or take) if you know you will be sore or if you are already sore??

Bring It!!

The P90X Journey Begins...Monday

So, here's the deal...I would like to lose about 12 pounds before we go to Disney World this summer. I'm not going to tell you what weight that is, but I will say that I haven't seen it since high school. My plan is to count calories and do P90X. I'm not going to give my specific Day 1 statistics or pictures (you don't need that stuff), but I will post my total pounds and inches lost on Day 30, 60 and 90. If the final pictures are good enough you may see those. The way you can help is by commenting on my posts to let me know that you are reading and making sure I am doing what I need to do.

I already know the exact number of calories I need to eat to lose weight because of our MetaCheck test. I tested myself this past week and I will be eating between 1300-1500 calories per day. I will probably eat closer to 1500 each day because I will still be doing my normal routine of teaching 7 workout classes per week. My goal is to only have one cheat day a week. My first test of that will be this weekend when my parents come to visit. I will retest myself about halfway through the 90 day process.

OK, so for the P90X stuff, I love the workouts, but I know I will have to make the time each day to do them. I do not like the yoga workout, but I am going to try it for at least the first couple of weeks. I may end up switching it to Stretch X if I can't bring myself to do it. Also, I will not be doing a workout on Saturday and Sunday. My body needs both of those days to recover from all of my classes I teach. So, here's the schedule for Week 1:
Monday - Chest & Back
Tuesday - Plyometrics
Wednesday - Shoulders & Arms
Thursday - Yoga
Friday - Legs & Back
Saturday - off
Sunday - maybe Stretch X

Thanks for reading this and PLEASE come back to see if I'm doing what I've said.

Until Monday...
